Could Hybrid Warfare Happen in America?

The biggest military victories of the 21st century didn’t look like people expected. Consider Russia’s seizure of Crimea from Ukraine, which relied upon not fighter jets or advanced warships but crafty public relations, Special Forces, and a proxy army. How did Russian President Vladimir Putin do it? He started with outreach to aggrieved Russian-speaking people in Crimea, posing them as victims of the crooked Ukrainian government. Russian state media and social media flooded the region and the world with propaganda. Putin then encouraged militias to form. They seized an airport, military bases, and government buildings. A parliamentary vote declared Crimea would secede from Ukraine. A referendum, days later, voted the region to become part of Russia. It was a new kind of invasion, and it worked.

Hope for Iran: Secret party scene defies strict Muslim authorities with drink, drugs, mini-skirts and music

You just know the state will crack down on it, but seeing the signs of life and independent thinking, shedding the old ignorant rules/laws, and resisting the state to live their lives as they please is always a good thing.

In the living room whisky and vodka flow abundantly while under the kitchen’s buzzing hood the first joints are being lit. While obviously at ease with engaging in several illegal activities at once, the crowd does show slight signs of panic each time the doorbell rings. It is always among the possibilities that one of the invitees or the neighbours squealed to the police.

Report: Gun Ownership, Concealed-Carry Permits Up Among Women and Minorities | The National Interest Blog

Good news, more gun owners…

A study by the Crime Prevention Research Center earlier this month found concealed-carry permits have boomed nationally, but particularly among women and minorities. “In eight states where we have data by gender, since 2012 the number of permits has increased by 161 percent for women and by 85 percent for men,” the report says.

Pew Research Center Poll: Gun Rights More Important Than Gun Control

Of course, your rights shouldn’t be violated even if a majority of people don’t like them.

The poll also shows the majority of Americans–58%–believe gun ownership “does more to protect people from crime than to put people’s safety at risk.” Only 37% of respondents believed “gun ownership does more to endanger personal safety.

Black Gun Rights Activist Launches ‘Black Guns Matter’ (BGM)

Well, it’s not necessarily about the actual firearm [so] much for us. It’s about the safety and training around [guns]. It’s understanding what your rights are. Not something that was given, necessarily by the government. Something that’s a human, inalienable right. You can have all the constitutional rights and amendments you want, but if you don’t have something to defend those rights and beliefs from somebody who’s trying to violate those rights, then it doesn’t even make sense. It’s got to be something behind those words. A bully doesn’t stop bullying because you’re just saying stuff. A bully stops bullying because you pushed back.

Gun Controllers Supporting Ban on ‘Fully Semiautomatic’ Firearms

Screen Shot 2016-08-21 at 1.24.58 PM

The worst part of it was that the vast majority of the individuals who approached Crowder’s table knew nothing about guns and admitted to not owning or even shooting a gun. Yet they were willing to support sweeping bans based on the guns’ cosmetic features or the false information Crowder was purposely throwing at them to highlight their ignorance.

How millennials want to solve the gun-control debate

Young people are, in fact, the most pro-gun generation in America. For many pundits who see millennials as hippie liberals, this is surprising. Two-thirds of young people have considered owning a gun in the future. Millennials are the least likely generation to support gun bans, with 70 percent of young Americans saying they believe civilians should have the right to own assault weapons, compared with just 51 percent of Americans overall. The millennials consensus is that gun control restricts law-abiding citizens without reducing violence.

Venezuelan Government Further Disarming Citizens By Crushing Guns, Registering Ammo

It’s the same old song and dance from the collectivists: Blame your problems on someone else while you oppress the people.

As starving Venezuelans rush the Colombian border for food, hunt in the streets for cats and dogs, and break into zoos to kill horses for meat, the government continues its crackdown on dissent as socialism in the country fails. Not surprisingly, tyrannical President Nicolas Maduro has been blocking humanitarian aid from coming into the country for months and has been blaming his country’s problems on the United States.

America’s Addiction to Mercenaries – The Atlantic

This means that contractors are making the ultimate sacrifice. Today, more contractors are killed in combat than soldiers—a stunning turnaround from the start of the wars Iraq and Afghanistan, when fewer than 10 percent of casualties were contractors. By 2010, more contractors were dying than troops. However, the real number of contractor deaths —versus the “official” tally—remains unknown.

Armed teachers defending 4 local districts | Herald Democrat

More than three years have passed since an armed gunman invaded Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown, Connecticut, and fatally shot 20 school-age children and six adults. In that time, school districts across the nation have made strides in security systems to prevent any other school tragedies. In Grayson County and Fannin County, four school districts have taken an extra step by allowing teachers to carry firearms to protect their children.

Philippines descend into darkness

“That death toll dwarfs the 68 killings of suspects that police recorded during anti-drug operations between January 1 and June 15”, wrote Phelim Kine, Asia deputy director of Human Rights Watch. The police denied accusations of extrajudicial killings and said suspects ended up dead because they resisted arrest or fought back.
