‘Jaw-dropping’: N.Y. Post writer rips Obama for gun remark

The New York Post’s John Podhoretz just ripped President Barack Obama’s departure from reality during his Tuesday oratory at the memorial service for five fallen police officers for asserting that it was easier “for a poor kid in a struggling neighborhood to get a Glock than a book.”Podhoretz called the assertion “jaw-dropping.”

And he didn’t stop there with the criticism.

Survey: 76% of Police Chiefs Say Armed Citizens ‘REDUCE’ Violent Crime

Not shocked.

While liberals call for more gun control to stop violence, three-fourths (76%) of the nation’s police chiefs and sheriffs say armed citizens actually “reduce violent criminal activity,” the 28th Annual Survey by the National Association of Chiefs of Police shows. Asked, “Can qualified, law-abiding armed citizens help law enforcement reduce violent criminal activity?” while under […]

Hero With Concealed Carry Firearm Prevents Mass Shooting in SC

“His rounds struck 3 victims, and almost struck a fourth victim, who in self-defense, pulled his own weapon and fired, striking Thompson in the leg,” said Lt. Kevin Bobo. The lieutenant added that the unnamed hero has a valid concealed weapons permit, cooperated with investigators, and will not be facing any charges for shooting Thompson.

California: Security – not for the Mundanes or ‘California, Again Centralizing Against a Decentralize Threat’

Filed under: Behind in times and out of touch with reality.

“…and require an applicant to show they face the potential for greater harm than the general public.”

The unarmed ‘general public’ is generally the target. Hence the need for the public in general to arm itself.

People who have to live in reality intuitively understand that they have to provide security for themselves if they wish to survive a decentralized threat.

Most police and law enforcement know this as well, and that’s why so many of them promote reality – Arm yourself to defend yourself, armed citizens are responsible citizens.

Welcome to the new normal.

Introduced by Assemblyman Kevin McCarty, D-Sacramento, AB 466 would clarify existing California law which requires those seeking a permit to cite a “good cause.” Assembly Bill 466 would change that definition and require an applicant to show they face the potential for greater harm than the general public.

Special Forces Association Rejects Calls For Gun Control

SFA knows what the deal is: A decentralized threat can’t be defeated by centralizing gun ownership and disarming the people who face the threat first.

One source close to SFA told The Daily Caller that members are saying they believe Petraeus became a gun control activist for financial gain.“Recently, there have been many questions raised on the meaning of the Second Amendment to our Constitution and whether we can trust law abiding Americans to own and carry firearms, “Jack Tobin, President of the Special Forces Association, said in a statement.“’…the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed…’ a rather plain and well worded admonition,” He added. The membership resolution also suggests the Department of Homeland Security put more effort into targeting radical Islamic terrorists instead law-abiding Americans.

FBI Press Conference on Orlando Massacre: “…Citizens Saved Hundreds of Lives Throughout Night”

Just imagine how many more lives could have been saved if any of the people in the club would have been carrying instead of being disarmed by the state…

“Yesterday was the most horrific day in the city of Orlando,” Mayor Buddy Dyer said opening Monday’s FBI press conference on the deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history. “Yet I stand here prouder than our city than ever,” he explained, noting that hundreds of lives were saved throughout the course of the night because of the heroic efforts of law enforcement agencies, police, and citizens.

The Orlando Shooting Is a Haunting Reminder of Just How Many Guns Are in America

There are obviously not enough guns in America when 50 unarmed people can be murdered by one…

At least 50 people died and more than 50 were injured after a gunman identified by police as Omar Mateen opened fire in a crowded Orlando nightclub early Sunday morning, the worst mass shooting in U.S. history. The attack, occurring against the the backdrop of a bitter presidential election, led to familiar political debates over gun control and terrorism. Whatever comes of those debates, the shooting underscores a simple, indisputable fact: The United States of America has a lot of guns.

FBI Director Says Nothing Bureau Could Have Done Differently to Prevent Attack

Reality is neither the way you wish things to be nor the way they appear to be, but the way they actually are. Either you acknowledge reality and use it to your benefit or it will automatically work against you.” – Robert Ringer

From The Daily Caller (11/18/15) We Face Terrorist Threats – Don’t Even Think About Enacting Gun Control Laws

“It is important to realize that the best security practices, people, and technology governments have to offer could not thwart the ISIS attacks in Paris. Nor will these practices, institutions, and technologies thwart the next attack.

Second: From FBI DIrector James Comey…

FBI Director James Comey said Monday that the Bureau had previously investigated the killer responsible for murdering 50 people in an Orlando gay nightclub Saturday night, but he said he didn’t believe there was anything that could have been done differently.

Seems those who are connected with reality understand that a decentralized threat can’t be defeated with a centralized response.

Katie Couric’s Producer Confirms Her Team Skirted Federal Gun Laws

If any mundane did this they would be facing time in the hoosegow, I wonder if Couric and her producers (who seem to be in clear violation of federal gun laws) will get anything but a stiff talking to or perhaps a slap on the hand?

“It appears that Katie Couric and her producer arranged to have firearms transferred to themselves outside their home state from an otherwise innocent person,” Korwin said. “That clearly is an illegal transfer under federal law, each transfer of which is a federal felony.”

Surrendering to Death-What really happened in Paris terrorist attack – Taki’s Magazine

Hughes is not happy with the way the media has treated the story. Details are randomly pulled from his interviews and entire angles are edited in later that are diametrically opposed to his beliefs. Jesse Hughes is an ordained Catholic minister. He’s pro-gun, pro-Trump, and pro-life. He recognizes that Islam is the problem and political correctness is literally killing us.

File under: Physician – Heal Thyself

But we are the troglodytes because we refuse any more wasteful “medical research” on “gun violence”, right? And we are putting people in danger when we say doctors shouldn’t be allowed to give advice on guns when they are not trained on firearms safety. But yet, they screw up what they are supposed to be trained on and are sending 251,000 people six feet under.

BOHICA – Obama to Make ‘Smart Guns’ Push but Police are Pushing Back

Don’t be fooled, it’s not just cops that are skeptical and pushing back against the gun centralizers – I know of no serous gunman (in the Jeffersonian sense) that wants to risk their lives and the lives of other innocents on unproven technology.

While I do support rock solid (RF/EM shielded, untrackable, unhackable, unbreakable, transferable, sharable, and 100% reliable) technology that can be used to prevent an unauthorized persons from using my firearm without my permission, adopting such technologies should be a personal choice, not one to be forced upon people.

Here is an idea: Let’s make the Secret Service (sorry to my friends in that department, but you get where I am going with this…) the guinea pigs for this, and see how the bureaucrats like putting their lives on the line instead of the people they are purporting to serve with such policies.

Among the biggest skeptics are cops worried about testing an unproven technology on the streets.“Police officers in general, federal officers in particular, shouldn’t be asked to be the guinea pigs in evaluating a firearm that nobody’s even seen yet,” said James Pasco, executive director of the Fraternal Order of Police. “We have some very, very serious questions.”

About Rent Seeking Instructors

Rent seeking is always wrong (and can be downright deadly when we are talking about firearms and training), it’s something we must be guarded against at all times.

It has to be an equal mix of greed and stupidity that launches the mouths of some firearm instructors to blab about government-mandated training. If by now, any Gun Owner does not realize that regulations that come from political hacks have no basis in real life and are actually a gateway to restrictions, simply in a disconnected idiot.

Should Gun Owners get training? Yes. If you are an instructor offer affordable classes in different levels of guncraft, from basic pistol handling to weapons retention. But do not latch yourself to legislators in order to keep your gravy train running.

Rand Paul’s Gun Bills Would Help Vets Publicly Challenge FBI Background Checks | Outdoor Life

Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) on April 19 introduced the Senate companion of the Protecting Gun Rights and Due Process Act, noting it would help nearly 200,000 veterans from potentially losing their right to keep and bear arms.

The VA has reportedly declared 260,381 veterans with fiduciary trustees to the background check system as “mentally defective.” According to the Congressional Research Service, more than 99 percent of all names reported to NICS as “mental defective” are provided by the VA.

Paul’s bill would abolish Obama’s executive action which allows the infringement on the gun rights of 4.2 million citizens enrolled in the SSA and VA and would restore gun rights to veterans, seniors and others who have already had their gun rights revoked.

Politicians panties in a wad about guns that look like smartphones

The ignorant seem to never mind their own business…

A proposed two shot Derringer type handgun design, which is planned be concealed as a smart phone and will require the same laws and paperwork to purchase as any other; is causing the usual ignorant hoplophobs into a group hand wringing hissy fit.

Not happy with disarming as many innocent people as they can (while they hid behind their body guards), are now looking for new laws and old regulations to prevent people from carrying a newly designed tool to protect themselves and their loved ones.

Note: The kind of a tool you carry doesn’t make you a good or bad person, it’s how the tool is used that matters.

WASHINGTON — Police across the country already have mistakenly shot cell phone-wielding people whose mobile devices were mistaken for guns. Now a Minnesota businessman is trying to bring to market actual guns shaped like smartphones.U.S. Sen. Bob Casey, D-Pa., and law enforcement leaders from both ends of the commonwealth say his idea is misguided and they are pledging to do whatever they can to stop him.

They are asking the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives to enforce the 1988 Undetectable Firearms Act, which already bans guns that are not shaped like traditional firearms.

“Officers are compelled to make split-second decisions all across this nation each and every day,” and this product will make their jobs harder and endanger lives, said Philadelphia Police Commissioner Richard Ross Jr., who joined Mr. Casey on a conference call with reporters Thursday.

“Of FFS” Nails it.

“I hadn’t known we had such permits in our state but apparently we do. Or did.” Yes, your state does have such permits. All 50 states do. It’s not just Texas anymore that you can walk down the street wearing a gun. We permit holders are everywhere. I know, you must be terrified that they let us crawl out from our double-wides and moonshine shacks and mingle among you decent folk.

McAuliffe vetos gun bills, touts domestic violence protections

RICHMOND — Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe, who struck a compromise on guns with Republicans early this year, has gone on to veto a flurry of gun rights bills that were not part of that deal. In the past week alone, McAuliffe (D) vetoed bills that would have given domestic violence victims under protective orders the temporary right to carry concealed weapons without applying for permits or getting training. He also nixed measures that would have allowed retired police officers working as private security guards…

Illinois law could revoke gun permits for peopled identified as a danger

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) — A plan to temporarily suspend gun permits of people in Illinois who show signs of being a danger to themselves or others is headed to the House floor.

Addison Democratic Rep. Kathleen Willis says her proposal to allow family members and close friends to file a petition to temporarily revoke a person’s ability to purchase guns is a response to mass shootings and suicide deaths. The petition for revocation of a person’s Firearm Owners Identification card could be filed in any circuit court.

The House Judiciary Criminal Committee advanced the bill on Wednesday, April 4, 2016.The Illinois chapter of the National Rifle Association opposes the measure, saying it infringes on Second Amendment rights. Republican Rep. Barbara Wheeler says the proposal is a government overreach.
